Because mommies need to love their bodies, too.
Some of you may be mommies yourselves or know someone who is, regardless, you understand the struggle at attempting to adjust to a body that is changing at such a rapid pace in such a short amount of time. After childbirth, I was left in a body that I know longer knew. The body I once knew for 26 years was gone. Here I was, standing in front of a mirror, looking at a vessel I knew nothing about. Before, I knew what exercises to do to tone specific areas, I knew running made my body feel stronger than anything, I knew I could indulge in a number of unhealthy foods without my body feeling fatigued and heavy. This body I was looking at now, I knew none of that. Running hurt my knees, peanut butter (which I LOVE and ate on a daily basis) upset my stomach to no end, and my abdominals were weaker than they have ever been (I couldn't do a sit-up!). How do I love a body I know nothing about?!
For me, loving my body was loving more than what I was seeing in the mirror or what others see when I walk by. However, the physical change was just as difficult to adjust to. I wasn't used to seeing the body that was reflected back to me in the mirror. My clothes fit differently. My shoulders were broader, my feet bigger, my hips...well...you guessed it...wider.
I have been ranting and raving about this high waist bikini for quite some time!! This beauty was sent to me by fshion.me and it has helped me to embrace the changes in my body and really feel comfortable in my own skin! Honestly, before having Hendley, I did not have the curves to fill out a high waist bikini. Guess what?! My "wide" hips have allowed me to totally KILL this high waist bikini bottom! I am absolutely in love!! Not to mention, the top fits this nursing mama perfectly;). All of my other bikini tops are, like the rest of my clothes, too small, but for different reasons;).
Check out the rest of this post and click the pictures at the end! I have included a link to this bikini along with accessories similar to what I am wearing in my pictures!
